Division of Nephrology & Hypertension

The Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School has assumed a leadership position in subspecialty training since 1951. The program is dedicated to the training of qualified, competent and board eligible or certified candidates. Accordingly, the trainee is exposed to a broad spectrum of adult nephrological diseases, with equal gender representation, and varied expression in terms of cultural background and economic status of the patients. Similarly, the trainee derives benefit from the varied backgrounds, interests and personalities of the program's faculty. The clinical experience is complemented by formal didactic instruction. This comes through scheduled lectures, conferences and formal teaching rounds. Participating institutions in the two-year fellowship program are University Hospital, VA New Jersey Healthcare System, Hackensack University Medical Center and HackensackUMC Mountainside Hospital.
